| After you purchase PPX you will be sent an email to the account you used to purchase with what is called a Reference ID. You write down that ID number and goto Customer Support. From here you will see two blank text fields. One is for your Reference ID, and the other is for the Email Address that you used when purchasing PPX. You want to enter the information into both fields, then to the lower right you will see a Submit button that you want to click once you are done entering the information.
The screen will ask you for an Owner Name for your copy of PPX. This Owner Name must be identical to the Owner Name on the Pocket PC that you are installing PPX onto, because the Registration Code is created to Match Exactly with the Owner Name that you enter now. Once you have entered that you will be taken to the PPX Screen with your information and a link to Download PPX. You will have to agree to the license agreement and will have the choice of downloading an Activesync Installer that will run directly from your windows machine, or a Cab file that you can download directly to the device or drag and drop onto the device using Activesync.
To install the Activesync Version, simply download it to your windows machine, connect to your Pocket PC Device via Activesync then click on the installer to install. You want to Install PPX only to the default application install directory or main. Do not install to a Storage Card.
To install the Cab File Version, simply download the Cab File, then drag and drop or copy and paste it onto your Pocket PC Device via Activesync. Once it is on your device, just locate it using a File Explorer, then tap on it and it will install. You want to Install it to Program Files. Do not install to a Storage Card.
Once you have finished installing PPX you want to goto your StartMenu and tap on the PPX icon that has been added there. In my screenshot it is located between Notes and Tasks.
PPX will startup and you will be asked for your Registration Code, which you should enter in the text field below the words, "Registration Code" and then tap on the grey button just below it named "Register" Then tap on the Ok button in the lower left corner of the screen.
Once you tap on the Ok button in the lower left corner of the screen a popup window will come up and ask if you want to "Save settings and apply?" There are two buttons on this window. The Yes button will save your Registration Code and verify it. If the Code is correct then PPX will start normally. If the Code is wrong, as in a typo in the Code, or that you don't have an Owner Name entered on your device, or the Owner Name you entered at Customer Support is different or spelled wrong, then it will ask you for your Registraction Code again. If you tap on No, then nothing will happen.
If you did everything correctly then you should now be using PPX, but if you are having problems getting PPX to accept your Registration Code or have problems downloading PPX, then here are some troubleshooting tips. If you continue to have problems then don't hesitate to contact us for help.
Downloading Problem Tips:
If you are having trouble downloading PPX. Make sure that you are saving to desktop and not opening the file or it may become corrupted. Also clear your cache before attempting the download again.
If you attempt to download PPX and it does nothing then disable any popup blockers you may have running as it may be blocking the download.
If you attempt to download PPX and end up with an empty zip file then check to see that your firewall's security settings aren't set too high and if you can, disable the firewall for the few seconds that you need to download PPX.
Registering Problem Tips:
If you are having trouble getting PPX to accept your Registration Code, check that you have set the Owner Name on the device that you are installing PPX on. This can be set by taping the spot on the today screen or in control panel. Check that you entered the numbers correctly. Sometimes a number and a letter can look alot alike when typing. Be certain that when you enter your Owner Name in Customer Support that you don't spell your Owner Name wrong, or leave a space or don't leave a space depending on how you have your Owner Name entered on your device.
PPX Won't Startup Tips:
If PPX doesn't startup at all for you. Check that you didn't install PPX to the Storage Card, as PPX must not be installed to the Storage Card. If it is, just uninstall it, then reinstall it to the default location in main memory. After you install and are in the Registration Code screen, uncheck Startup if you had it checked before so that the Startup can be set to the correct place. You can check it again after you restart PPX one time by tapping on the PPX icon on the Startmenu.
